Our Journey

Since 1995 I have been working in wood. Starting as a carpenter’s apprentice then working through custom cabinets and furniture. In 2010, when the economy was down and high end custom work dried up, a friend of mine suggested I try turning bowls for his gallery. That prompted me to also try other aspects of woodworking that were more artistic in nature, as well as, allowing me to work with hand tools more since they are often faster and more efficient than power tools when making smaller objects. I haven’t abandoned power tools altogether, I just use them to make things faster, therefore helping pieces more affordable when possible.

The site is named Dallas Worthy in honor of my grandfather, who also worked with his hand. I never had an opportunity to meet him, as he passed when my mother was young, but through the stories passed down from family and his friends I have always felt his imprint on who I am.

This site will always be a work in progress and new pieces will be added as they become available.
